On September 20th of 2003 the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council held its first elections. On Sepetmber 27th the election was certified and the first official board of 21 directors was certified. The turnout of almost 500 voters was the second highest of any other neighborhood council in the Valley. On October 1st of 2003 the new Board met for the first time. At that meeting the Executive Board was selected. The Board also established board rules, a budget and its first commitees to deal with a broad range of community issues:
