Our aim is to offer temporary accommodation to those affected by the odor as soon as possible, and we are trying to provide enough flexibility so that no resident should have to wait long to move away from the odor. For example, we offer to place residents at hotels as we work with them to explore more suitable temporary accommodations, as necessary. SoCalGas has retained 17 relocation agencies to help manage the temporary relocation process. If any affected resident were to feel the need to seek a temporary relocation on their own before one of our representatives can arrange temporary accommodations on their behalf, affected residents are free to make their own temporary accommodation arrangements within the parameters of our program, and we will reimburse them.

Aliso Canyon Update
SoCalGas® News
Dear Neighbor,

We are working diligently to assist our impacted customers and keep everyone informed of the latest news and developments regarding the Aliso Canyon Storage Facility. We are pleased to share the following customer service improvements:

Updated Relocation Call Center

  • For Porter Ranch residents seeking relocation information for the first time, SoCalGas® has established a new dedicated toll-free relocation call center, 1-877-238-9555. This call center will expedite placing customers who wish to relocate and is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • Please note that Crawford Claims Alert, the previous dedicated call center, is no longer accepting calls. When customers call 404-497-6808, they will be directed to call the new call center.
    • If you have already started the process in working with a relocation agency, please continue to work with the agency that you were assigned. There is no need to call the new call center.

Updated Reimbursement Process

  • To save relocated residents time and energy, we are implementing a new process that will eliminate the need for receipt reimbursement. We have increased the per diem amount to $45.00/person/day regardless of age, and are evaluating a variety of ways to streamline our reimbursement process, including a pre-paid spending card to eliminate the need for receipts. Look for more information to come soon regarding this streamlined process.

Expanded Community Resource Center (CRC)

  • To help provide a better customer service experience, we are opening up a second Community Resource Center on Thursday, December 31st, adjacent to the existing Community Resource Center located on 19731 Rinaldi St. The CRC is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

At the CRC you can receive assistance on the following matters:

    • Securing temporary housing accommodations
    • Filing a claim
    • Requesting a free home air filtration to reduce odor
    • Multi-lingual company ambassadors on location (Korean and Spanish)

On-Site Environmental Health Expert

  • Dr. Mary McDaniel, board-certified in occupational and environmental medicine, is now available for consultations at the Community Resource Center where she can provide expert advice on health concerns related to the natural gas leak from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.

Free Plug-In Air Purification Units

  • We have created a program to offer air purification units to local residents to deal with the odor problem. The goal of the service we are providing is to reduce and potentially eliminate the odor in your home. If you are interested in receiving an air purifier, please call SoCalGas’ Aliso Canyon hotline at818.435.7707 or email AlisoCanyon@SoCalGas.com.

Enhanced Website

  • For the latest updates on Aliso Canyon, visit AlisoUpdates.com. The website has been enhanced to provide a better user experience and easier navigation when searching for the latest updates on our efforts to stop the natural gas leak as quickly and as safely as possible.
