Educational Wildlife Workshops

Walk on the Wild Side with LA Animal Services
Attend an Educational Wildlife Workshop
Los Angeles, March 30, 2017 – LA Animal Services will begin hosting Wildlife Workshops for the community starting this April through December at the City Animal Shelters throughout Los Angeles. Wildlife staff specialists will share educational information with residents on how to handle wild animal situations they may encounter in their neighborhood and help address concerns.
Wildlife live throughout the Los Angeles area and can usually be scene year round. Normally, wildlife pose no threat to humans and keep their distance. However, if they have access to food, water and cover, these animals may continue to return to certain areas and begin to lose their fear of humans which can potentially lead to them becoming aggressive.
The LA Animal Services Wildlife Division works to aid City residents in rectifying wildlife problems in their community and some of the uneasiness they may face with these animals. The program provides on-site evaluations, education on methods of exclusion, deterrents and discouragement of wildlife forays into urban neighborhoods. Wildlife are common and an important integral part of the ecosystem and circle of life. Mindful consideration of precautions and basic knowledge of wild animal behavior will create a manageable co-habitation between the community and local wildlife.

Residents will learn all of this and more at the presentations. The workshops will be held at the shelters on the following dates:
